Enjoy the holidays!

Nevermind that crap in the left hand corner! I have a colored version in Photoshop that I am working on. I couldn't get it to upload. It's just as well cuz I'm just learning that program and it kind of looks like KAH-KAH. At the bottom, if you can't tell. Is a pic of earth being destroyed while he is ashing on it. The caption that will be added later is "This is what will happen if we stand by and do nothing." It's a charachter from that story I've been and will continue to work on.

Fear Agent

This was a drawing I did for a friend of mine a few yrs back. I found out he liked a comic called "Fear Agent" It was for his birthday, but it ended up being a yr late. Yeah, I know I'm terrible with deadlines. And the phrases on the image are...

"Gives a whole new meaning to sci-fi fantasy."

"In space, no one can hear you scream...or moan."

I'm clueless

The 1st 3 images are characters I've been playing around with for a bit. After my next 2 projects are done. I'll be able to get back to working on these characters.

With the help of the current owner of this image, I was able to turn this into a jpeg and upload it. No extra scanning required. Currently working on a Spider Man comission that I hope to be done with next week. That's it for me.

Deadpool used as a gift???

It started as an action shot gone horribly wrong!! I just wasn't feeling it. Then I thought maybe a comical approach.

My thoughts exactly. Not very funny. Then I stumbled upon this next one. It's kid of boring yet not terrible. This is not the final piece. Although the cannibalism of this pic helped it survive. I added the colors after all was said and done.

So as I tried to upload the fiinished drawing...I found out it scanned in tif instead of jpeg. Not sure why it did that. everything else scanned in jpeg. So I have to rescan it and upload it another time. What a crock my day turned out to be. :p

Oldies

I'm kinda tired. Things are a bit goofed on the way I wanted this post to go. I might go back and edit later. I'm posting things from my early yrs, when I actually finished most of my drawings. Before I let life get in my way of enjoying laying down lines to eat up the time. Here they are. Enjoy or don't, the choice is always yours.

I'm too lazy to type anything else right now and running low on time. Just gonna upload the rest and add descriptions later. This blog is probably gonna be backwards anyways. I just previewed it and it is backwards. Oh well.

This one came from Michael Turners' Fathom series. Taras I think his name was. It was about a race of undrwater people that wanted to take over the world. Not terribly interesting I know. Moving on.

This one features Warlands sketches based on Pat Lee's artwork. That guy was pretty damn good back in the mid to late 90's.

Time for an update. While I have more images scanned The other ones will have to wait just a bit linger before I put them into play.
The last 2 months have been rather odd. More hands and actual feet this time. Gotta practice all the technical stuff which takes up just as much time as anything else I do. I'll post some more interesting images next time. Maybe that unfinished pencilled foot will be finished as well.

The delay has ended

First up we have legs. Yyyeess, that's right I said legs. To some of you that might not be a big deal. Just like most of the anatomy of the human body, this is no easy task for me to actually sit there just to practice legs. I did it and I'm glad to say I'll be doing more of it. Lots.

Next is a youngish, brash, not so level headed Greyarm. As for the coloring of his jacket, I make no excuses. Just trying to work my way into being versatile with markers(or any form of coloring for that matter.) As the months go by, I'll be posting more characters for a story I am working on. Which he is a apart of. Hopefully soon-ish, I'll have a friend help me destroy this world that's being created. No story details for the time being, just character and mech designs

Finally, not much to say. Just a mech for said universe. Nothing is finalized, this is me just trying to go places. It has no arms at this point just because it was a cutaway side view. Entirely to much typing. peace

In this case it might be better never, rather than late.

So, drawing number 1 is an updated ver of Greyarms' arm form the last blog entry. Nothing special.
So number 2 is just to get a bit of a feel for his sword. Lot's of ff13 influence. This will be more like an assault rifle. I need more gun studies.
The Third is based on characters created by Derek J. Goodman and I created. Stonehammer and Moonlit Cassie. Link for Dereks' story 'Casts A Demon Shadow is here----> http://dunesteef.com/2009/12/17/page-81-casts-a-demon-shadow-by-derek-j-goodman/ Awesome story and good fun. It's an audio fiction blog with the works. This was used as the cover piece for the story. Number 4 is just a bunch of hands inspired by artist Ryan Benjamin. Awesome artist, very positive influence in this negative world. His link is http://pancratia.com/ very cool imagery. That's all, I'm done.....not I kinda forgot to mention the random alien.

My great big dump, art dump that is.

I've been a hibernating bloat this last month. Thankfully there is someone I know that calls me out on getting things done for this. He hasn't done it just once though, it was twice. I am also late on when I told him I'd get this one done, if only by a day.

So, 1st up we have a sword. Just because I like swords. (if you read to much into it, your problem not mine.)
Secondly and thirdly for that matter, some random faces from a book.
The last one was scanned in black on accident , which as it turns out, I like how the grey actually looks. The one before it is the proper colored version. Just a character for a story that I'm working on absent minded fashion. He is based on someone I know. This is the kind of direction he was describing. Ignore my chicken scratch.

No More Internet

So, if you have not noticed. There has been a slight hiccup in the weekly update, a lot of it has to do with my crack. a.k.a. Mass Effect 2. The real issue though is not having enough gumption to do much. The weeks that I work overtime I'm quite exhausted. Working on changing that. New post next week.

Assignment number san

So not many words today. Need more sleep right now. Though I fight it. I have here my finished ass #2 and the beginnings of #3. Pencil or ink a face. So far I have an inked one. No heavy blacks on this one. Maybe next time. Also I dare not destroy ass #2 by trying to ink it with my clumsy hands.

So assignment numero dos, was to use a painting from the days of the old masters (circa 1899 or earlier). I'm working on a couple. I said before not my favorite subject. That was no disrespect for the old ones. It has always astounded me how much subtle detail these people could recreate.

My friend Chris said something about "The old ones being addicted to what they were doing." I think some of these guys were obsessed or had some sort of compulsion to replicate the beauty they saw in the world. Maybe there are different stages to this. I think I'll throw out 7 stages to to The Sublime Mastery of Art.

1) Lazyness/Distractions

2) Mild Interest

3) The Addiction starts

4) Borderline Obsession

5) You are now diagnosed with a slight case of OCD!

6) Enter the Compulsion for perfection

7) Onto Sublime Mastery

This has been one of the toughest yet rewarding experiences I was ever coerced into. More posts to come this subject matter. I think I am just past the mild interest phaze of this. That 1st one is quite the thorn bush to run through at a certain point in life. The artist is Cabanel. Not sure of his 1st name or that of the painting. I'll post the pic of the painting with the finished product.

assignment numero two

So this weeks assignment involves the masters before the 1900's. Not my favorite subject, but I have become insanely drawn to it. My 1st doodle is from Chaplin. Don't know a thing about him. It's a 6 min ballpoint pen sketch. I kind of like it except those are some pretty easy lines for me. My roommate is challenging me to do one based on Monet. We'll see if there is anything I am entranced by. So far though, nothing has really appealed to me. Even if I don't find anything I'll still answer his challenge.

the 1st assignment

My first venture into the world of blogging. This started off as a series of assignments my art buddies and I began this past week. This was my end result. I have a couple more sketches that i'll post at a later date. Maybe when I am able to type faster I will write more about the posts themselves. I don't like the static pose of this one. I started with the head of this creature and liked that so much I just kept going. I'll save her for something special in the future. Thanks for checking it out, see you soon.
